Rivian R2: Två månader senare – bekväm pendlar-SUV med väg-trip-problem
2026-10-17 • Kategori: Fordon
TL;DR: Rivian R2 är en bekväm och snabbladdad el-SUV för vardagsbruk, men räkna med kortare räckvidd på motorvägen än vad specifikationerna lovar.
A Rivian R2 owner shares his ownership experience after two months. YouTuber Gjeebs underlines the SUV’s comfortable ride and good charging speed. However, the R2 is not a great road-tripping machine. It feels like Rivian unveiled the R2 yesterday, but a lot more time has passed since then, and now the first owners are already publishing their experience with the mid-size adventure EV. The R2 is the most important vehicle in Rivian’s lineup, and one that has the potential to transform the California automaker from a startup into a name to be reckoned with in the industry. And at first glance, the R2 delivers everything it promises. YouTube Gjeebs got his R2 Performance with the Launch Package roughly two months ago, and he’s been driving the SUV regularly. Now, he posted a video on his channel detailing what it’s been like living with Rivian’s most affordable EV as a daily driver. Getting straight to the point, the owner has had a good experience with only a few minor niggles and a big asterisk when it comes to efficiency. The car is very comfortable and simple to drive, and the one-touch button that operates all five windows at the same time is a great party piece. (The rear glass of the R2 can drop into the tailgate.) Because this particular R2 has the Launch Package, it comes with lifetime access to Rivian’s Universal Hands-Free driver assistance system, which works well. It can change lanes, but the driver needs to initiate the lane change by indicating left or right. The interior ergonomics are also great, with plenty of large cupholders and all sorts of storage cubbies. All this being said, there are some annoyances. The rear wiper button on the left stalk is very sensitive and activates the wiper at the slightest touch, and there’s no built-in cover for the huge panoramic glass roof—just like on the Tesla Model Y and Model 3. Other small issues that were present on delivery day were ironed out with software updates, and the car works as it’s supposed to. Except when it comes to highway efficiency. Gjeebs noted that the range estimates can be a little too optimistic. When recording the ownership experience video, the car said it could do 334 miles on a full battery, but it ended up delivering just 248 miles, with 2% left in the battery. That’s way off, but it’s worth noting that most of the trip was done at over 70 miles per hour, and the car is shaped like a brick, leading to an average efficiency of 2.93 miles/kilowatt-hour. The R2 Performance has an EPA-estimated range of 330 miles, but on the highway, the boxy SUV has been known to eat quite a lot of electricity. Thankfully, the R2 charges faster than you’d think, considering its 400-volt architecture, with a 10-to-80% session taking less than 30 minutes. More Stuff Like This We want your opinion!
